East Brainerd Community Theater
The East Brainerd Community Theater is a ministry of Christ United Methodist Church and exists to bring quality stage productions to the East Brainerd community, produced and presented by members of the community. All are welcome.
In 2013, two Broadway-loving CUMC church members, Gary Bynum and Stephanie Pearson, joined forces to stage the first EBCT production ever, "Nunsense". The show was a hit, and as they say, the rest is history.
The EBCT's goal is to produce one play and one musical each year. EBCT Alumni also reunite annually to provide a free musical revue. Other activities include holiday caroling and celebrating the annual Tony Awards with a watch party.
The EBCT is proud to welcome both CUMC church members and members of the surrounding greater Chattanooga theater community both onstage and backstage in its productions. We are committed to providing a welcoming space for everyone to share in the irreplaceable experience of live theater. Thank you for your participation in making this a diverse and inclusive place, where everyone feels they belong, are respected, and are free from discrimination.
