The East Brainerd Community Theater is a ministry of Christ United Methodist Church and exists to bring quality stage productions to the East Brainerd community, produced and presented by members of the community. All are welcome.

Auditions will be held by the East Brainerd Community Theater for the murder mystery "Pick Your Poison" on Monday and Tuesday, January 12 and 13, 2026 at 7:00 PM each evening. Auditions will be held in the main Sanctuary at Christ United Methodist Church, 8645 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421. Actors need attend only one evening. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Pick Your Poison is a murder mystery farce in the style of the “country house murder.” Sir Nicholas Blackburn invites his old friends, acquaintances, and one stranger to visit him at his country estate, but some of them may not live through the weekend. In this audience-interactive play, the audience votes at intermission on which of the eight main characters is the murderer, and the winning vote determines which one of eight alternative endings are played at that performance.

OKLAHOMA! by Rodgers and Hammerstein
Set in the Oklahoma Territory in 1906, "Oklahoma!" follows the lives of farmers and cowboys as they navigate love, rivalry, and the impending statehood of Oklahoma. The musical features two main romantic pairs: Laurey Williams and Curly McLain, and Ado Annie and Will Parker. The story explores themes of love, jealousy, and the struggle for acceptance in a changing society.
